Test EngineerWhat does a successful Test Engineer do?
A successful Test Engineerwill be integral to the EMEA Experience domain’s application development team, creating and maintaining a robust digital platform for customers.
Our customers all over the world use the platform to manage and monitor their business through a central, single access point. It is a distribution channel for new products and tools for merchants.
You will be a key player in ensuring that all of the software used on our platform is operating according to the relevant specification. You will need the ability to understand customer needs, partner with developers, analysts, and tech leads across the delivery team to identify test scenarios and propose appropriate technical solutions. Develop Automation, perform System testing and drive quality assurance of code and configuration. Document test activities, log defects and ensure that re-testing takes place to confirm that problems encountered have been resolved. Work in accordance with testing standards developed in-house and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing standards and automation.

What you will be doing?
You will join one of our scrum teams working on our product backlog as Test Engineer. Each team is composed from at least one UI Developer, API Developer, Business Analyst, QA and Scrum Master. You will closely cooperate with other team members to test product increments each sprint.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
Play a central role in adding to our extensive automation capabilities in testing our core acquiring platform,
Working with business analysts & developers to write test cases for new changes,
Develop and agree test plans with BAs and Software Development engineers,
Review Requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback,
Log bugs, reporting the issue to the developers and taking full ownership and accountability following up to ensure that corrective action is taken,
Gain knowledge of the merchant acquiring business and a competence with our Merchant platform to enable the support of other groups within the organization.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate should have experience working in a collaborative agile environment, in a scrum team and be familiar with Agile Scrum principles. A degree/diploma in a Computer Science or in a relevant field or similar work experience is required.
3+ yearssoftware testing experience throughout all phases of a software testing cycle, including some automation experience.
Ability to generate test cases from our User Story Acceptance Criteria and add to our BDD automation framework.
Experience with test automation frameworks (eg. Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured)
Experience of Postman/Rest Assured API Test Automation
Knowledge of Behavioral Driven Development & Test Driven Development, knowledge of Gherkin Syntax with Cucumber a bonus
Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
Practical knowledge of object oriented programming principles, databases and SQL (Oracle)
Experience with Source Code Management tools (Git)
Experience with Atlassian defect tracking tools (JIRA, XRAY)
Practical knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab)
Self driven and strong coordination skills are required to excel in this role, you will be working with numerousstakeholder across more business domains.
What technology stack we use?
We are running on Java 21.
From Spring we are using components like Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Integration, Spring Data JPA, Spring Data Redis, Spring Data Mongodb, Apache Camel, and more
We use JUnit with Mockito,Spock for unit testing and Integration Testing in API, cypress for front end unit tests.
We build RESTful (OpenAPI 2 and 3 standard) APIs.
We consume SOAP apis with use of Apache Camel.
We have Oracle database and we're using JPA/Hibernate as ORM layer.
We are in the process of migrating to NoSQL databases like Redis or DocumentDB
We use Front end technologies of Angular 14, Typescript, HTML5, SCSS, RxJS, Ngrx, High charts, Webpack, Responsive and Progressive Web designs, BEM, Angular Material CDK
