What does a successful Senior Database Administrator do at Fiserv?

You will be responsible for managing and maintaining SQL Server databases, including SSIS and SSRS. They focus on setting up SQL clusters, optimizing performance, and ensuring data security, while also having knowledge of Azure environments. You will develop and implement best practices for database deployment, conducting performance analysis, and preparing thorough documentation. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless operations and mentor junior team members.

What you will do:

• Provision and configure SQL Server instances for both new and existing products.
• Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration
• Perform OS/DB migrations on-prem and in Azure environments and provide 24x7 support of production databases
• Install, configure, and support SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services, and Analysis Services
• Implement and maintain SQL Server encryption models including TDE, Always Encrypt and SSL connections
• Support SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL jobs
• Manage and operationalize SQL databases in Azure cloud, and configure and use SQL monitoring tools
• Develop scripts using PowerShell, Python, shell scripting and implement monitoring and alerting solutions

What you will need to have:

• 8+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration
• 8+ years of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• 8+ years of experience in writing and optimizing SQL/T-SQL queries
• 6+ years of experience in backup and recovery strategies
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field and/or equivalent military experience.

What would be great to have:

• 8+ years of experience with BI tools like Power BI and Tableau.
• Experience supporting SAP application databases and Fiserv applications
• Knowledge of SQL Server features such as partitioning, query store, and Column Store indexing
• Strong technical critical thinking skills and knowledge of common protocols (SFTP, SMTP, DNS, HTTP/S)
• Experience with SQL monitoring and alerting solutions
