As the Vice President of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in managing a team within a matrix environment, focusing on structuring complex, enterprise-wide financial solutions. You will provide strategic direction to your team, guiding product selection, pricing structure, and contract terms for new logos, intra-Fiserv transfers, and renewal opportunities. Your ability to obtain approvals from division leaders and manage resources effectively will be crucial to meeting deadlines for delivering pricing proposals.
This role is a Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF-11) as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland, and the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages, utilizing data and insightful commentary to convey the narrative of financial performance.
- Take responsibility for the financial oversight of Technology sectors (AppDev, FTS, Cyber) and Operations across the Merchant business segments.
- Manage a geographically diverse finance team based in the region, along with indirect reports in business units across regions such as Poland, Ireland, and offshore accounting teams in India and Poland.
- Lead the monthly close and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all financial operations.
- Understand the risks and opportunities associated with Technology and Operations functions, proactively identifying challenges and positive developments.
- Coordinate with business leads and finance counterparts to drive business results effectively.
- Build and maintain dashboards that track critical metric trends, providing visibility into financial performance.
- Facilitate the creation of annual and multi-year strategic plans for the business division, aligning financial goals with business objectives.
- Own the budgeting and forecasting processes for business unit capital expenditures, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals.
- Maintain strong partnerships with Corporate FP&A and other division finance teams, fostering collaboration and alignment.
- Navigate and manage any regional versus global conflicts, ensuring synergy in financial operations.
- Provide support to technology hubs and allocations benefiting various business units, driving profitability across regions.
- Review balance sheets, projects in progress for capitalized development expenses, and expenses related to new client onboarding.
- Perform ad hoc analyses and assist team leadership with complex financial tasks and projects.
- Monitor and establish internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Manage the board and related processes for the business unit including managing the shareholder requirements from time to time
- Own the safeguarding requirements under the regulations and ensuring adherence to the laws at all time.
What you will need to have:
- Extensive experience in Accounting and Finance, preferably in roles involving technology and operations.
- Proven track record of managing teams in a large, matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex financial challenges.
- Exceptional written, oral, and follow-up communication skills.
- Positive attitude and resilience under pressure, able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong independent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to rapidly shifting priorities.
- Advanced degree (Master's, MBA) or Finance Qualification is preferred.
This role is deemed as a Pre-Approval Controlled Function role (PCF-11) under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations. Commitment to adhere to the IAF Conduct Standards is a requirement for this role.
